Seating around 1,000 (depending on configuration), the Corn Exchange is a Grade II listed building found in the heart of town. Until the early 19th century, local corn merchants traded here. Major restoration work took place in the 1970s and now it welcomes an eclectic programme of comedy, music, sporting events, festivals and conferences.

Theatre Royal is a vibrant 200-year-old theatre located in the beautiful Suffolk town of Bury St Edmunds. First built in 1819, it was restored to its original Regency design in 2007 and is a Grade I listed building. It seats 360 people and is the only theatre in the National Trust portfolio and the last working Regency Playhouse in the country.

The Salem Chapel was constructed in 1812 and, after its religious use ended, it was neglected and eventually became a store for Ipswich Museum. In the early 1990s, the New Wolsey converted it into a theatre of around 100 seats to complement its larger ‘main house’. This studio theatre was then taken over by The Gallery Players in 2021 and their first show - The Mystery of Edwin Drood - took place that September.
